The studio’s approach is defined by a refined understanding of material, craftsmanship and spatial experience. Familiar materials and techniques are often reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, resulting in work that is both distinctive and enduring.
At the core of Autoban’s practice is a narrative-driven approach to design, where each project is shaped by its context, culture and sense of place. These references are translated into spatial experiences that create a distinct identity while remaining closely connected to their surroundings.
Under the creative direction of Özdemir Sarper and Çağlar, Autoban has completed more than 500 projects internationally across hospitality, aviation, residential, retail and cultural contexts. Selected projects include JOALI Maldives, JOALI BEING, Galataport Istanbul Cruise Terminal, Jetex Private Terminal and Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus.
Autoban’s work has received numerous international distinctions, including Red Dot Design Awards, AHEAD Awards and an IFI Design Distinction Award. Özdemir Sarper and Çağlar have also participated in leading international design platforms through exhibitions, lectures and jury appointments, including the London Design Biennale, Dezeen Awards, iF Design Awards and Milan Design Week.
